America's most powerful Secretary of State dies

Nobel Peace Prize winner Henry Kissinger, one of the most powerful and influential Secretary of State in the United States of America, died yesterday (29) at the age of 100 at his home. Former Secretary of State Kissinger, who served as the US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor during the reigns of Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, has died at his home in Connecticut, USA, and the cause of his death has not been revealed.

Kissinger, who played an important role for the American government during the Cold War between the United States and the former Soviet Union, is a Jew by birth and is known to have escaped from Nazi Germany to the United States at the age of 15. He is also the first Jew to hold office in the United States of America, and while working as a responsible official of the American government, he always kept aside his Jewish national base. It is known that Kissinger was the one who initiated the dissolution of China and Russia's relations with America. Among the world crises solved by his intervention, ending the Vietnam War and solving the Arab-Israeli crisis that started in 1973 is the main one. In recognition of his work for world peace, he and the North Vietnamese leader were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973.

Even before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Kissinger, who opposed Ukraine's membership in NATO, had declared that Ukraine's territory should be given to Russia after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Although he is a hero to many, his critics say Kissinger was a war criminal during the Vietnam War.
