What is creative writing?

1.Creative writing is anything where the purpose is t o express thoughts,feelings and emotions rather than so simple convey information.
2.Creative writing is writing that expresses the writer's thoughts and feelings in an imaginative,often unique,and poetic way.

Why creative writing?

people write for two distinct reasons
1.For one's own self

Writing is a form of personal freedom.It frees us from the mass identity we see all around us.In the end,writers will write not to be outlaw heroes of some under culture but mainly to save themselves,to survive as individuals.

2.For others

Writing enables us to form connections/bonds with other people.This is accomplished by creating empathy in another's heart for the things the writer believes in and for the emotions the writer feels.
Isolate a human being from all other humans,and several all human ties of his,and he will be reduced to feeling no more important that a piece of furniture

How  can your writing be creative?

There are several elements of creative writing.These elements are essential for a piece of writing to be termed as creative.

• Theme and Motif

Creative writing differs from just recouning incidents or facts in that creative writing aims at emotionally moving the reader.

How can we do that?

Before writing...

• Decide on the audience for your writing
• The language of your writing shoud be right for our audience
• Think carefully about the purpose of your writing
• Decide on the form of writing.Diary,letter,story?
• Check your grammar and punctuation before you produce your final copy.

Depending on your audience,choose what sort of words you will be using.For very small people,simple,everyday words have to be used.For an older audience,you can let the words really do the work.

Characters

You must understand them very well so that you can select the important characteristics that describe them best.
First,write a detailed biography for each of them.This biography should include physical,psychological,and historical details

• What does the character look like?
• How does the character behave?
• What does the character say?
• What kind of feeling does the character generate in  another person?

Use good describing words to make our character interesting.
eg:'mild and quiet','gigantic holy terror'.fierce tyrannical monster
,'jewel-bright eyes','sharp features softened by motherhood'

You could ask yourself these question.
1)Who is your character?Is this character the protagonist,the antagonist,a supporting character?What is the character's name?Describe the character's pgysical characerisics and personality characteristics.
2)What does your character do for a living?What is he trying to achieve?What is his goal?
3)When does your character do for a living?What is he trying to achieve?What is his goal?
4)Where is your character located?Describe the physical location.
5)Why does your character look or behave the way he does?What is his motivation?
6)How do your character's mannerisms or actions define his personality?
